Vincent's Neo Primato

Lieba een bisken mehr, aba dafür wat Jutes.

Size: 60 cm c/c
Gruppo: tutto Dura Ace - including seatpost, headset & wheelet
Stem & Bars: 3ttt
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow

Vincent says:

I had the frame done after a long discussion with Doriano De Rosa in 2007, asking him for a frame to suit my needs. For I definitely don't like plastic frames he recommended titan or steel. I love the classic look of lugged steel and it's traditional beauty, so it was an easy decision to opt for the Neo Primato, as you see.

As a tradtional Campy rider it was a rough decision for me to go for Dura Ace with this bike. But Campy only offers black plastic dominated gruppos in the upper classes, which are fine for modern plastic frames, but not so for classic steelies. Only traditional silver aluminium components, highly polished and excellent quality would fit the bill for a Primato I thought. Well, so here we are with Japanese Dura Ace on an Italian race horse. Think what you like.

Vincent, danke für deinen Beitrag und Grüße nach Berlin.

Campagnolo: 75 Years of Cycling Passion

What a nice surprise and a really great gift: my friend Kalli gave me this book yesterday: »Campagnolo: 75 Years of Cycling Passion« / Campagnolo: Ein Unternehmen schreibt Fahrradgeschichte - (Delius Klasing Verlag). This book is a must-have for every campagnolo fan!

Abstract by Amazon:
As Leica is to cameras and Ferrari to racing automobiles, Campagnolo is to cycling: designer of the finest parts for bicycles ever made. Campagnolo's jewel-like brakes, pedals, derailleurs, cranksets, and wheels have been ridden to more race victories than any other brand, yet the same components are available to cycling enthusiasts worldwide. »Campagnolo: 75 Years of Cycling Passion« is a celebration of this legacy that will be cherished by every cycling fan.Campagnolo's rich history began with the founder, Tullio Campagnolo, a racer who turned to creating better bicycle parts when he found the equipment of the day not adequate for the rigours of professional competition. Blending exotic alloys with sound engineering, Campagnolo created a series of patented designs that are still in use today as the fundamental standards upon which modern parts are based. With its deeply researched history (much of it from the company's private archives), spectacular colour photography, rich text and lavish presentation, »Campagnolo: 75 Years of Cycling Passion« is a book for every lover of the sport of cycling, as well as connoisseurs of the bicycle itself. This book features colour and black-and-white photos and illustrations throughout. It comes in a hardback with jacket.

Great racer – Francesco Moser

Francesco Moser. Time Trial in the Giro d'Italia. Forte dei Marmi, Italy. 1974. photo by: fototizio

»In 1974 another great racer came to him in search of the frame that was the talk of the pro peleton. Francesco Moser wanted De Rosa bicycles for his Filotex team. De Rosa complied and the results were rewarding for both parties. The team was taken over by Sanson in 1976, and it added the powerful Belgian Roger DeVlaeminck to its roster while Moser went on to win the World Championship.«

Evgeni Berzin – Giro d'Italia 1994

For a short time, Russian Evgeni Berzin was the hottest rider on Earth. In 1994, the classy blond Berzin won Liege-Bastogne-Liege in front of Lance Armstrong, then went on to kick Marco Pantani's and Miguel Indurain's rears in the Giro d'Italia a month later. Who could ever forget the raging Russian in his fabulous win in the Stage 8 time trial from Grosetto to Follonica, run at an average speed of over 52km/h?

Although Berzin, and his fellow Russian Gewiss teammate Vladislav Bobrik (winner of the '94 Giro di Lombardia), were so familiar to American cycling fans from their Tour Du Pont exploits, neither rider ever quite went on to fulfil their potential, but they both rode De Rosas to big wins. Here is Berzin's 1994 De Rosa Titano from the Giro d'Italia.

Making Your Bicycle Travel Ready!

De Rosa Acciaio

De Rosa Neo Pro

»Bilenky Cycle Works has been doing retrofits since 1994 when S&S Bicycle Torque Couplers (BTC’s) were first introduced. We retrofit bikes with special alloy stainless steel or titanium couplers. We use the classic style couplers (lug-like in appearance) and low-temperature silver brazing. This creates a strong and beautiful travel frame. We retrofit steel and titanium bikes; singles, tandems, and recumbents. We were the first to use S&S BTCs on tandems and triples, and have retrofitted many tandems since 1995. Contact us with your particular project and needs. If we can't do it, no one can!«
